Step away from
the bustle of Kyoto Station,
part the noren curtain —
and find seventy years of quiet.

A three-minute walk from the Karasuma Exit of Kyoto Station, on a corner of Akezu-dori, you will find Hifumi Ryokan. Founded in 1956 (Showa 31), our inn has welcomed travellers from across Japan and around the world for seventy years as a Government-Registered International Tourist Ryokan.

Yuba-laced morning rice porridge, Kyoto-style kaiseki course meals, the scent of fresh tatami, the smile of the okami (proprietress). Carrying the warmth of the city itself, we wish you a peaceful moment in your journey through Kyoto.

Cuisine

CUISINE
Kyoto-style kaiseki course meal

The turning of the seasons,
poured into each bowl.

Bamboo shoots in spring, conger pike in summer, matsutake mushrooms in autumn, crab in winter. With the seasonal ingredients that Kyoto's four seasons weave, our head chef composes each bowl by hand. Within each one, we cast the story of the city of Kyoto itself.

"A bowl is not just a bowl —
it is the season itself."
